OPUSalbums.com
A few weeks ago OPUSalbums.com booked three items to be sent via DHL - one UK, two continental Europe. My wife also had to return some merchandise - to be collected by DHL. My consignments were booked through third party agents such as Parcels2Go as these charge 50% of what DHL would charge if you booked directly with them.

One day three different DHL vans called - each to pick up one item. And one came back the next day for the fourth - even though it was due to go out that day.
- Why not take all of them - Can't do that mate.
- Why not take the item that you know is for you - "It's not on my list, mate"
Surely there could be a more efficient way of doing things!

Today I had a package to go to France, urgently. I missed yesterday's collection and by 5.30 today it had not been picked up. So I called the local depôt. Wrong one, try another, wrong one try another.
Can I deliver it to you? "Sorry mate w have to come and collect it, you ordered through a third party".
It then transpired that the reason it had not been collected was that DHL did not cover (at least at that price) the target town - Chamonix. So I cancelled the booking.
This was rebooked with Parcelforce - collected within 4 hours and delivered within 48.

Last week DHL missed a collection to go to Germany from a third party. I contacted Parcel2Go by e-mail and nothing was done about it. Only when I at last made telephone contact 3 dasy later (after being told it still had not been collected) that the goods were collected.

What's more - some have consignment notes, others bar codes.

Eh Royal Mail. With competitors like that you have a future! I'll be using Parcelforce now for export - but you have to move to beat UPS on domestic.
