€coRag - the Economical Alternative, Innova Art and Olmec Alternatives to Epson Papers

Epson offers some first class papers, which we would not criticise in any way.  

In offering this product as an alternative we are not making any claims of equivalence or superior quality.  We can point to professional photographers who prefer the Olmec paper to Epson.  All papers have slightly different coatings and are best used with their own ICC Profiles which have been generated for each popular Epson and other printers.

OLMEC Archival Paper is 230gsm - vs Epson 192gsm. As well as A3 and A4 there are A5 (some products) A2 and A3 plus cut sheets and wide format rolls from 17" to 44".  

Epson Premium Luster Photo Paper (Nearest Equivalent Olmec OLM-64)

Velvet fine art Paper (Nearest equivalent €coRag Economic Alternative ECR-74 Innova Art IFA-04 (lighter weight); IFA-14 (heavier weight) - note that only cut sheet is A2 from Epson.

However for a true Matt Archival paper we would recommend Innova's FibaPrint product (IFA-39) - even though it is more expensive.Here is what paper expert  Jeremy Daalder of Image Science, Australia  says:

"FibaPrint Ultrasmooth  - it's the closest thing we've foundto Epson Archival Matte in many ways (although it is more expensive -but we think worth it). It has a very bright white, extremely
smooth surface. It's a much better weight than EAM (280 versus 180), soif you're after a really smooth surfaced fine art paper, it's a great choice. EAM is still a better proofing paper though, given its very low cost, but its reputation for yellowing (Epson can't even sell thispaper branded as 'archival' in many other countries), means it isn't agreat choice for selling your work."
