We are in the wedding
season, and as the days become sunnier there are more and more opportunities to
create really good photo stories of a wedding occasion.
Whether you are the official wedding photographer or just a
family member or friend taking pictures remember that there is far more to the
occasion than getting some good formal or posed pictures. The story book should reflect the spirit of
the occasion.
You can, of course make a record of a wedding without
anything in print.However first you
will be competing for attention with video. And like a video the story is invisible unless it is on a machine. You can’t pick up a DVD and just start
looking at it.You have to see a
substantial amount to get the spirit. How many videos or slide shows are seen once and that is it.Worse still how many are never looked at at
all?
As a supplier of software for wedding albums, dg Foto Art,
Album Design 3 (AD4 this month), and print-your-own wedding albums and paper,
we have invested a lot of time in writing our own guide to making a wedding
album. We have also sourced a some
guides to wedding photography. It is our
intention to publish a book“How to transform wedding photos into wonderful
preserved memories.”.Still partially
complete it is waiting for the 30 hour day.It won’t be out for the next month or so, so I’m providing a summary of
blogs and ideas which I hope you will find useful.
Saying “Thank-you”. Your album, montage or even a photo-accordion
is a good way to say ‘Thank you’ to the bride’s family (or whoever) for their
hospitality.
