You enjoyed that Party. Remember it!

Great Album Idea -   Party Time

Parties are great social occasions-  times to meet friends and family – to make new acquaintances. A printed record of the event and the people make so much more.

Party timeA party can be a simple gathering such as the one here – or it can be a lavish or formal event.   It is about people – and activities.  All these produce memories.

Indeed there are so many excuses for a party!  To name a few - a birthday party, christmas party, anniversary party, stag or hen night, bar mitzvah party, graduation party, Eid, Divali, Easter, Independence Day - or any other celebration party - these all produce memories worth putting in an album or story book.

You have the ability to put these into such an attractive format – for yourself, for your hosts and for your fellow guests.

Our recommendation - with  OPUS Albums.

(of course we are biased!)

Print & BindStart with Print&Bind – quick, easy and economical; functional and, above all good looking – even beautiful.   15 (expandable to 30) pages of quality photo-glossy paper, neatly bound into an elegant compact plastic cover.  Pages can be added or removed at will.   Using Fotoslate 4 – or your favourite editor, make up one or more pages for each event – print and add to your expanding record.  Add your story line too.  Whenever you have something more then get the camera out – shoot, edit print and add a few pages.  It’s so easy, enjoyable – and gives such pleasure. When you are confident about your albums - or want to be more ambitious - for a small extra investment you can have the high quality OPUS Photo Art album.  We recommend soft textured paper.

Ten Tips to make a turn Party Time to a life time Memory

OPUS Album Tip 1 Remember that you are primarily a party guest.– You are there to imbibe the spirit of the party, to enter into the fun.  Taking pictures needs to be seen as an ‘incidental’.

OPUS Albums Tip 2

Whilst the other guests drink you take your pictures.  Tip is to be the driver as well – so can’t have more than a drink or two.  You can be sharp when the others become less inhibited.  But – unless it is just for yourself – don’t put embarrassing shots in the album. OPUS Albums Tip 3 Use flash – but don’t keep flashing the same person.  That is unless he/she wants to be the centre.  Then flash that person as much as you like – you don’t have to use all the pictures you take.  Do the opposite with the camera shy.  Make sure you have one or two good photos.

OPUS Albums Tip 4

Feature the hosts  They have put a lot into the party – work and money.  Show them up to their satisfaction – especially for the album you give them.  (Assuming that you do).

Italian mealFeature the meal – My wife always takes photos of the meal.  Dishes make good pictures – they are colourful – and you can go back and remember – What did we have at that party?

Feature the events Try and cover as much as possible.

OPUS Albums Tip 5

Use a wide angle lens.  Whilst the temptation will be to use telephoto to get the candid shot, wide angle ensures that you can get close-up groups in.  For the longer distant shot the resolution will still be good enough even if you crop out quite a small bit.  The exception to this is, especially if you are outside, when you can get candid groups from a distance using telephoto. OPUS Albums Tip 6 Add other material the invitation – about the venue.  Google the distinguished guests and get some interesting notes that nobody knew before!

OPUS Albums Tip 7

Only now decide what the album is for.  Don’t do an album if the material is not good enough.  However if you are missing a shot or two maybe another guest can help you out. Here are ideas for the albumsYour own record – make sure that the things that you will not remember are documented.  Most important are those new people you met and you will want a record for next time.  A “thank-you” present for the hosts  - Put yourself in their shoes so that you make them feel pleased with what you have given.  There is no need to go ‘over-the-top’.  They will have not seen anything like what you have given them before.  However – check your facts – don’t get peoples’ names wrong etc.  If you are unsure ask them to make the changes and reprint the album with a correction.  For the other guests  This could even be a saleable product!  They would expect to cover your costs.  And they don’t know what your costs are.

OPUS Albums Tip 8

Add anecdotes. What happened – the circumstances

OPUS Albums Tip 9 Embellish the album  but do not clutter it up.

OPUS Albums Tip 10

Group the events – Not necessarily a chronological record.  Make sure that it is balanced – not too much on one aspect – but not too little either.

Finally - Enjoy yourself – don’t make heavy weather of the album.   After all you are doing it for your own pleasure too!
