Photographers who use many outside bureaux to print albums now have the alternative of printing their own.
Rochester, 28 February 2008
Opusalbums.com, an Incartek venture, signed an agreement at Focus on Imaging 2008, with PXL Soft of India to be a licensed distributor of the popular photo album software, dg Foto Art. Dg Foto Art is the base package licensed by many photo book services. With Opusalbums the same software platform can be used by photographers and book producers who wish to print their own.
Daniel Roberts, director of Incartek, said "Home printed albums have the advantages of immediacy and flexibility. If you don't like a page you can change it. If it becomes out of date, you can revise it. But many people also like the book form. Now there is a seamless file compatibility between home printed and bureau printed albums. This could be a real boon for wedding photographers. They can produce a proof album or an art album using Opusalbums.com's PhotoArt or Print&Bind, whilst continuing to use an online book service such as Cewe, Photoinsight or Memory Collectons for coffee table book."
Bhaskar Dewal, European sales manager for PXL Soft Said "dg Foto Art has been very successful in the major bureaux. These companies generally offer a free download dedicated to their service. With the Essentia version of our dg Foto Art we have a version that can be used by many professional an amateur photographers on their home and studio PC's to print locally. With its position in the print-your-own album market, OPUSalbums.com is an ideal partner to make this a success.
OPUSalbums.com is a specialist web-based business in print-your-own albums, digital scrapbooks, professional photo and creative papers.
